Rainbow Falls

from $19.00

Hilo, HI | 2018

Shortly after Hurricane Lane dumped feet of water on the town of Hilo, the local waterfalls put on a show. Rainbow Falls is just a short drive from town, which sits on the coast on the western flank of the massive Mauna Kea (13,803 ft / 4,207 m) volcano. The large elevation change on the Big Island makes it home to 11 of the world’s 13 climate zones. This means that you can see the lush forest surrounding waterfalls like this, then drive up to the arid moon-like landscape at the summit of Mauna Kea.
